My path to Slavic Missionary Bible School (SMBS) was a very interesting one. I was born and raised in a Christian family in Russia, and finished school in Sankt Petersburg’s Government University of Economics and Finances. After school, I thought of starting my career in business, but God changed my plans. One lovely evening, surfing online, I saw an ad about a missionary bible school in America and became very interested in finding out more about it. I called the school, talked to the administration and after obtaining some more information, decided to come to this school. This decision was not the easiest one to make for me because I understood that I would have to leave many things behind at home in order to follow God’s call for my life, but God gave me the wisdom and courage to make the right decision. This is how I ended up here, in this school, in Jacksonville, Florida. I have been really blessed, learning and studying here. We have had amazing teachers, who come from different states and countries just for us, to share with us their knowledge and to ignite a passion in our hearts to serve God and inspire us to go and help people who are in need. We have had an assortment of interesting classes that are preparing us as future missionaries and servants of God. At the end of school I will go on a mission trip to Ukraine with a group of students to a completely unknown place so that we could tell the people living there about Jesus. I am very excited and cannot wait till this trip!

Greetings to all! My name is Dmitriy Kovtunovich and I came from Rivne, Ukraine to America in 2002. I have had a great desire to spread the word of God ever since I was a kid. When I heard of this opportunity to come to SMBS, I put aside my college plans and my job and came to Jacksonville. When I graduate from SMBS in May, I want to go to Ukraine on a missionary trip for three months. My goal is to spread the Gospel to people that are in need of the Good News. I am the middle child of three boys in my family. My parents are originally from Belarus, but all the kids were born outside of there. My oldest brother was born in Austria, while my younger brother and I were born in America. I was born in Missoula, a small city in Montana. There my parents raised me in a Christian environment and taught me the Russian language. When I was 14, we moved to South Carolina where I finished school and started college majoring in the medical field. It was there that God touched my heart to attend SMBS to expand my knowledge about Him, His word, and develop a deeper relationship with Him. I have always had a desire to go and preach the good news of our risen Lord Jesus Christ so I have eagerly awaited the mission trip that follows the completion of school. My purpose of this mission trip is to lead people to Christ and plant a seed of His word in their hearts.

I come from a large family and am the oldest of six kids. Our family moved to America, from Ukraine, when I was four years old. Being a missionary has been a dream of mine since I was a child. I love to work with people and especially children and share with them the love our Heavenly Father has for us. Jesus has turned my life around and I want to share that with others.

My name is Inna Katsura and I'm 19 years old. I'm from Sacramento, CA and after attending SMBS this year I'm going to Ukraine for 5 months. I'm originally from Ukraine and so I'm excited to go back and share the love of God with the people there. I really enjoy singing and working with children and so I'm looking forward to this on the trip.

I was born in Ukraine, in a village called Stare Celo. I come from a big family- five sisters, four brothers, and wonderful parents. We immigrated to America on May 28, 1997 to Utica, NY. After living there for six years, my parents decided to move to Richmond, KY. Before coming to SMBS I was enrolled at EKU for a law major, but fall of 2009, I decided to take a break from EKU and go to Slavic Missionary Bible School. The reason I had decided to go to this school was to gain more knowledge about the word of God, get closer on a personal level with God. The reasons why I decided to go on this mission trip are: I want to help others out who are in need, to preach and get involved with kid and tell them about God, to serve people and be an example to them.

I was born in Odessa, Ukraine into a wonderful family of five. We moved to America when I was five years old because my parents wanted their children to have a better life. In America my little sister Alexia was born, she's now currently six. I love children and have helped out in Sunday School and also worked at a day care. Prior to coming to SMBS (Slavic Missionary Bible School)I worked at an optical clinic and attended college. I decided to pursue God's will for my life and live for him so I left all that to come here. At school I have learned a lot and am excited to put it all into practice. I want to share the unconditional love and joy that God has given us and give them a hope for their future. I don't want to waste my life I want to make a difference in the world!
